Electronics and Smart Cables Low Pressure Molding

Henkel’s TECHNOMELT® low pressure molding materials are a single-material solution that delivers a simple, streamlined and low-cost alternative to multi-step, multi-material PCB protection methods. A three-step process where parts are inserted into the moldset, molded and tested, low pressure molding eliminates messy two-part material mixing routines, device preparation (masking), long cure times and material waste.

Medical Low Pressure Molding

LOCTITE Low Pressure Molding protects components in medical wearable devices with a simple process. This process replaces traditional multi-part assemblies because everything is made from one material. Low pressure moulding increases design flexibility while reducing material consumption. The LOCTITE Medical Molding material is available in several colour options and is tested for biocompatibility.

Two-Shot, Synchronous PCB Overmolding

LPMS USA offers material, equipment and tooling solutions for PCB, battery and LED encapsulation, cable strain relief and connector sealing. Engineered-molding adhesives are used to meet customer requirements, including a watertight seal and a mechanical bond to cable jackets. Compatible engineered-molding adhesives are used for two-shot synchronous overmolding to increase throughput – for example an optically clear material for overmolding LEDs and a secondary black overmolding material to provide increased durability of the part – as shown in the video.

Custom-tooling design provides the ability to emboss or deboss company branding and logos. Bushings can be molded in place to increase the strength and reliability during parts mounting.

Custom-Material Overmolding

LPMS USA offers customizable material solutions, including pantone color matching, and the incorporation of UV and thermal stabilizers and other additive solutions to meet customer requirements. LPMS USA provides equipment, tooling and material solutions for the medical and safety markets.

Beta 300 tabletop molding machine includes a 1.2-Ton press with horizontal injection and a built-in melt tank. This machine is a great solution for prototyping and production runs of smaller parts.

Cable Harness Overmolding

The BETA 800, a vertical-injection system with built-in melt tank, works with a single injection gun. It is also equipped with 5.7” touchscreen PLC with multilanguage capabilities. Three thermal zones ensure precise melt control, while one safety light curtain and two palm buttons guarantee maximum safety for the operator.
